Professional Experience

Currently Working as an engineer at Etherwise. I architect and build full GenAI apps/SaaS including BE data ingestion pipelines, FE interfaces, and deployment on cloud platforms, I can handle it all end to end. Always looking forward to new challenges and opportunities to grow.

  • Co-founder HugrLabs (September 2025 - Present)
A personal side hobby sort of thing; hoping to spend my free time researching, learning, understanding and maybe even contribute around my long standing dream of consciousness transfer/cloning.
Sounds straight out of a sci-fi movie, but hey, why not give it a shot! Got to be impractical to achieve the impossible right?
  • GenAI Engineer at Etherwise (August 2025 - Present)
Am actively pouring my working hours here at the moment.
Etherwise is a little startup / Dev Agency my college bestie (Abhishek Gandhi) around started 2 years ago, we are at the moment - service oriented, and we take care of automations, scripting, full end to end SaaS app developments and so on.
I recently joined in to help around with scripting and any heavy programming related projects and tasks. We already did a few interesting projects for different clients. Naming a few: AI assisted Trading SaaS, Loads of automation scripts and stuff, ChatGPT site clone but enhanced with a RAG pipeline made as a support thing for some internal support and a few others like such. We almost architected everything end to end.

Coming from QED42 it seemed quite challenging at first, since we are a very small team of just 4 folks now, work often just comes in waves, sometimes very challenging, confusing and chaotic, but sometime very chill and structured too. Overall a great learning experience since coming out of QED42 where everything was so structured, process oriented, nicely timed with buffers, QA and testing and so on BUT this battle field is something different altogether. Things are way more fast paced that one cannot possibly keep up if AI assisted tools were not there. Sometimes we working on multiple projects concurrently. often time little script requests come in or PoC requests and the deadline for msot things are like few hours max or a day or two. In rare cases if the project is actually big then it becomes a week or two. SO yeah stress is high, risk is high, but so is the adrenaline rush and the learning that comes with it.
  • AI Engineer at QED42 (May 2023 - August 2025)
I can proudly own the title of being the first ever AI Engineer at QED42. Also I sort of led the practice, I held training sessions and such for fellow employees in the early days, shared learnings from the quirks we implemented in various GenAI projects that went into Prod.

All this happened few years back when I was given a chance to build a little semantic search PoC for a client. Since then I pivoted from my Drupal work to develop cool GenAI experiences. We built a very cool platform for ILAO (Illinios Legal Aid Online), also worked on a lot of internal projects, process automations for other clients, and also had few interesting PoCs. And I contributed majorly to the alpha version of the Aeldris platform BE, which is now quite a lot transformed and matured since I have left the org back in August.

This was also the period where I got my first juniors to mentor and guide, which was a very enriching experience. They were pretty sharp so I didn’t really have to do much hand holding, but just being there to guide them when they were stuck was a good experience. Even having someone to bounce ideas off was great. Late evening brainstorming sessions at office, simply thinking out loud, and getting feedback from peers was something I really enjoyed during this period.

My reason for leaving would be that I wanted to explore more out there I felt it was getting comfortable for me here, I could always pave a way for growth myself, but I wanted to just get out and explore more opportunities, understand how others are playing the field.

And there was also an itch to start something of my own outside the comfort of a steady peaceful job.
  • Associate Engineer - Full Stack at QED42 (May 2021 - May 2023)
Jumping into the Drupal ecosystem was hard, the architecture was matured over a decade and was quite complex to grasp initially. But with patience and perseverance, I was able to get a good hold of it.

I worked on multiple client projects, ranging from small scale websites to large enterprise applications. I got to work on both frontend and backend, which gave me a holistic understanding of the Drupal platform. The team was very supportive, and I had some great mentors who guided me through the initial days. Over time, I took up more responsibilities, skills.
This phase was crucial in shaping my professional skills, work ethic and also helped built most of the CS foundations I have today.
  • Software Development Intern at QED42 (Sep 2020 - Apr 2021)
My internship at QED42 was my first real exposure to the software development industry. I was fortunate to be selected for an internship at such a reputed company right out of diploma college. During this period, I was primarily focused on learning Drupal and contributing to minor bug fixes and features in ongoing projects.
  • Security Analyst & Architect Intern at Kode IT Solutions (Summer 2020)
It was mostly hacky like, managing few little apps and stuff, I helped around the org, it was very new back then.
  • PHP Web Dev Intern at Tablabs Technologies (Summer 2019)
Here we built a full fledged Library Management System from scratch using core PHP and MySQL. It was a great learning experience, as I got to understand the basics of web development and database management.
  • Consultant from my own org XeonAJ (Summer 2019-2020)
Basic IT support stuff, helped a handful of local businesses set up their digital presence, basic websites. All using simple WordPress and Google My Business setups.

Education & Qualifications

Strong academic foundation in Computer Technology with first-class distinction. I didn’t pursue further formal education, instead choosing to dive deep into self-learning and hands-on experience in AI and software development. Also the syllabus at the colleges that I could afford at the time didn’t really cover anything I didn’t already know or couldn’t learn myself online, so I decided to skip it and focus on practical skills. But I do plan to pursue rest of my degrees in the future in foreign universities that offer specialized courses in Quantum Mechanics and Physics.

  • Diploma in Computer Technology
  • Institution: Government Polytechnic Ahmednagar
  • Total Aggregate: 88%
  • Class: First Class with Distinction
  • Personality Type: INTP-T / Logician
A flexible thinker who enjoy unconventional approaches. An excerpt from the 16personalities.com page: People with the INTP personality type (Logicians) pride themselves on their unique perspective and vigorous intellect. They can’t help but puzzle over the mysteries of the universe – which may explain why some of the most influential philosophers and scientists of all time have been INTPs. People with this personality type tend to prefer solitude, as they can easily become immersed in their thoughts when they are left to their own devices. They are also incredibly creative and inventive, and they are not afraid to express their novel ways of thinking or to stand out from the crowd.

But to be very honest every time I take this test it comes out as something different, so take it with a grain of salt. But one thing is true from my own perspective, I can sit ideal, spend hours without any digital distractions, just thinking about different things in life, universe, tech, ideas, concepts, philosophies and so on. I like my deep creative thinking sessions. I even invented a name for it ‘Thinkering’ its a combination of Thinking and Tinkering, its like a thought experimentation.

Technical Skills

Comprehensive technical expertise across multiple programming languages, cloud platforms, and cutting-edge technologies.

  • Programming Languages: Python, PHP, Rust, Javascript (Node.js)
I mostly use Python nowadays for everything AI/ML related, BE services and so on. Its just so versatile and has a rich ecosystem of libraries and frameworks that make development a breeze.
For web development, I have a strong background in PHP, especially with Drupal CMS. I have built numerous websites and applications using Drupal over the years.
But lately I just spin up a starter kit in Next and quickly write some logic and ship it away for PoCs and stuff.
  • Additional Languages: Dart, C, C++, HTML, Bash, SQL, Go
A pretty good with any languages right now. Even before ChatGPT and AI assisted coding tools came into existence, I was already pretty good at picking up new languages on the fly. So now with these AI tools, its even easier to get productive in any new language in no time.
All one needs is a string foundation in logic building and problem solving, the syntax and language specific quirks can be easily picked up over time.

Sure there is always a better way of writing something but our of gazzilion ways of doing it - picking one that is efficient, readable, reusable and scalable is the key.
  • Frameworks: FastAPI, React, Flutter, Drupal
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, Linode
I have hands on experience with deploying and managing applications on various cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure and Linode. I am comfortable working with services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Cloud Functions, App Engine, ALB, Kubes/K8s, Containers and so on.
  • IoT Platforms: NVIDIA Jetson Nano, Raspberry Pi, Micro:Bit
Would it be weird if I said I learned what RPi was and how the code and pin-outs worked even before I could hold one which happened after almost 5 years? Yeah I was hell bent curious about these little computers when they were introduced in magazine when I was in 7th or 8th grade. Being a state board school in a small town things coding really amazed me. But honestly I wasn’t that driven into programming until my Diploma, instead of programming I was more into hardware, electronics, robotics and such. Like make mini moving models, RC cars, whatever I could get and jam together with my tiny little immature brain, I remember I once put a tiny LED with long poles into a home socket, yeah dumb as it sounds it was all sparks and flames.

But later on I got access to Jetson Nano, Intel NCS2 and MT3620 dev kits through Hackster.io contests, this gave me the opportunity to play around and understand different IoT platforms and embedded ecosystems. I have built few interesting projects around these platforms. I still occasionally pick a few things to tinker around with.
  • Security Tools: Burp Suite, CodeQL

Notable Projects

There are a lot of interesting big and small quirky projects and stuff I have done, but following are a few that I can talk about.

  • AI Assisted Form Filling Bot: A chat assistant that would dynamically help with complex form filters and options
  • Lead Capture Bot: Similar to the assisted form filling, a lead capture bot that could collection user information or whatever was configured in field configs.
  • Multi Modality Semantic Search: Do a semantic search between multiple file types, like audio, video, text & images
  • Semantic Search and integrated Chatbot (RAG): Full RAG pipelines from real time data updates, handling batched requests, doing inference & token optimizations, dynamic caches to never ending but always in-context long convos
I built RAGs before RAG was the name given to that simple architecture globally, I did context engineering before that become a known word too and built guardrails when most public chatbot could be casually misguided and used to generate anything else. Fun times of just figuring it out
  • Guardrails for Chatbots: Comprehensive simple prompt based multi layered guardrails that could easily stop the most comprehensive prompt injection attack.
  • Agentic Framework Benchmarks: Played with around 25 different AI Agentic Frameworks to run against some public benchmark scripts and datasets
  • Notion Render: Convert private notion pages to gull fledged notion based sites but protected behind custom urls and such
  • AI Trading Site: AI assisted stock trading SaaS platform

Research Interests

Exploring cutting-edge technologies at the intersection of: Consciousness Transfer, Artificial Intelligence and Quantum computing

  • BioTech Applications
I always had a tiny inclination to being interested and invested in cyborbs and bio-tech stuff like alternate eye, organ replacements, artificial tissues and skin, DNA editing and so on.
  • Consciousness Transfer
A fascination and a dream that I hope to see one day come true to experience, movies like Chappie (Movie, 2015) and Pantheon (Series, 2022) are some of the best adaptions of this concept. So its my biggest dream ever, something that drives me and keeps me alive to see another day.
The simple thought of being able to replicate our thoughts and experience the consequences of different choices all taken at the same moment that horrifying and weird right? I love it, I like the possibilities of ones mind to do more than what the physical body ever allowed one to grow.
  • Quantum Computing
Long ago as i kid I read some crazy unbelievable theories of Quantum physics. Like the schrodinger’s cat. Dual states of nature. And Quantum universes that exist beyond the possibility of the current state of science. And now we have quantum computers that have the ability to run algorithms and stuff designed for quantum states. Even simulators. Also maybe the heavy computational requirements of AI/ML could be solved using Quantum algos in place, tho one would have to rethink the complete process
  • Security Research
One of my early conference that I attended in my college days was something related to security, and we learned to use Burp Suite and a few other tools. And like most kids I was fascinated my MitM WiFi hacks and such, had a lot of interesting finds back in college times. So I think and care about security right from the start when am developing something cool.

What Folks Say About me

I copied these Recommendations from LinkedIn.

Alphons is a uniquely exceptional software engineer. His passion for technology in general, and his ability to learn anything new in that space in a remarkably small period of time always amazed me! You ask Alphons if he knows something, it's rare that he doesn't. And if he doesn't, it's not for long! The amazing things he did at QED42 was nothing short of genius! He once did a POC that integrated AI search to a Drupal website; And for a programmer with just under 3 years of experience, he came out of that with a product that looked like it was built by a team of highly experienced Senior Developers. It was just a pleasure listening to him speak about it. Alphons proves every day that experience is not calculated in years, but in the volume and variety of things you accomplish in those years. I can honestly say a year of work experience for Alphons should be considered as at least two! And you can't simply ask Alphons something about technology. :) Be prepared to learn almost everything about what you just asked him. He will write you an essay that will paint a very detailed and elaborate picture of what you just asked him. This also extends to the reports (performance analysis, incident analysis, bug reports etc) he creates as well. Any company would be lucky to have him. I wish him all the best.
